Crop circle

Does anyone know what the white painted 'crop circle' type pattern is in the middle of the road just before the bridge on the Haslemere Road. Whoever painted it must have done it in the middle of the night to avoid the cars!!!

It has been there now for months I think I saw some aliens come and land there last night

I think it may have been something to do with the cycle race? Il looks a bit like a wheel and it appeared just before hand

It could be to mark out where there is a pothole to repair? maybe Hants County Council have to close the road to do this work so they would have to apply in advance to put a traffic control system.
