Singing vs Chocolate
- Hazel (4th Jan 2016 - 13:36:36)

Did you know that when you’re singing, particularly singing with others, your body produces ‘feel good’ hormones called endorphins, which rush around your body and make you feel good? It’s just the same feeling you get when you eat a bar of chocolate. The good news with singing is that you don’t gain any calories!

For these and many other health benefits that singing provides, come and join us at “'Love to Sing', Liphook’s fun choir. We have a free taster session on Wednesday 6th January at Liphook Methodist Church Hall, 7:30-9:30pm.

Hope to see you there!

Sounds a good way to start the new year. Think I'll give it a go.

Hi Hazel
Would it be possible to come to the next session as unable to come to this one?
If so, when will it be & will it be at the same place?
Many thanks.

Just want to say that I joined the choir when it first started & I love it. There is definitely a 'feel good' factor about singing & however tired I feel before I go, I always feel good during & after. Not sure about the chocolate factor tho!!

We had a fantastic session last Wednesday, it was great to meet so many new singers. Hope to see you all and anyone who missed last week, on Wednesday. Same time, same place

Just to confirm - Oxford University research shows that that "singing with others provides a wealth of health benefits from strengthening the immune system and reducing stress to improving the symptoms of Alzheimer’s.
Importantly, you don’t have to be a wonderful singer to benefit.
This is because improvements to health come from being part of a team, working in synchrony and exercising the lungs, diaphragm and other parts of the body...."

What stopping you? Come and join us and have some fun. First session free.

I agree. But I'm a bit shy and only sing in the shower.

Come and have some fun, care to join me ...

Hi TAFKA

You really needn't be shy about joining us. Many of our members are former shower singers and understand your dilemma completely. If it makes you feel more confident you can come appropriately dressed for shower singing although for the sake of propriety I would insist upon a shower cap!
