Delicious Greek food at Green Dragon
- Diane (27th Jul 2015 - 23:25:12)

You must try the freshly prepared menu at the restuarant at back of Green Dragon especially as it is 10% off final food bill for limited time. We enjoyed lovely oven roasted Feta cheese as a starter and delicious meatballs and souvlaki as main courses. Fantastic service from the restuarant owner Pavlos who deserves every success in his new venture. The Greek menu is served Monday to Saturday 12 till 2 and 5.30 till 9pm, and on Sunday there is a traditional Sunday roast menu. We'll definitely be dining there again.

Sorry, I will not bang on about what we didn't like about their 'Greek' menu, but say that not all are that impressed. This subject was covered before and the first entry to this thread sounds very commercial to me.

It does sound like an advertisement...

My thread is NOT an advert! We really enjoyed our meal very much, all I wanted to do is spread the word.

I stopped in a couple of days ago and had a delicious souvlaki - freshly made and carefully boxed up to take away. It was authentic and lovely - and, although I have no affiliation with the Green Dragon would second Diana's comments and wholeheartedly recommend giving their new menu a try.

We have very few culinary choices in Liphook, and we regularly see new (and old) ventures struggle. Although I recognise the right of all posters to their opinions and value the autonomy of Talkback, I would gently suggest that grievances might initially be bought up directly at the point of service - as the patrons seemed engaged and welcoming.

Come on Liphook; let's be the little town that celebrates what we have! By embracing the new and cherishing the old we might just give places a chance to thrive and develop, rather than stopping them in their tracks.

I ate there yesterday and it was really good food. I'll be back.

Hi after the previous post about too much critiscm on here, let us give some genuine praise too ! I look forward to trying the food soon, about time we had some greek food in the area! I am fed up with a choice of either steak and chips or burgers and chips or fish battered within an inch of its life with- yes even more chips! There should be a chance to eat something other than american style pub food or chinese or indian.
The pubs which are more expensive around here have better choices, but very few deviate from the belly of pork, sausage and mash, or pasta choices. Lets hope they stay a while!

we ate there last night and it was lovely and so very very fresh ......

I suggested they need to just develop a Taverna feel to the eating area and it would be superb.

Thanks, Diane. I might give it a try. Do you think it would be equally good lunchtimes as in the evening? The same chef? Is it a family run thing?

We liked it but I suggest they should get some more food in. They didn't have either of my first two choices or my wife's first choice.

Mary, I understand the same chef cooks lunch time and evenings. I think they also do take away too.

I agree there needs to be more of a Greek atmosphere, the owner is working on it.
