Lost Dog Found In Station Road
- Stuart Midgley (26th Apr 2015 - 15:33:31)
Sunday April 26th
We have found a lost golden retriever in Station Road, Liphook.
It is being look after by one of my locals, and will be collected by the dog warden on Monday.
If it is your dog, or you know anyone who has lost him.

Why don't people take lost pets to the local vet first, free or charge they scan for a microchip and can immediately identify the owner if the animal is chipped.

I see that the posts were on the 26th, a Sunday, not may vets open!

Thank goodness the Links were good enough to take the dog in. I am sure if the vets were open then they would have been taken to be chip read.
There isn't much you can do 'out of hours' except call the dog warden [but they will only come 9 - 5pm Mon - Fri and not on bank holidays!
I am sure the owner will be thankful that the dog was taken in and looked after - and maybe they can get the dog a collar with a name tag and number on after that!! Cheap and easy to do.

Yes, I saw the dog was found a Sunday, and so? - take the dog to the vet for chip scan Monday morning. Is it so difficult.
Good on The Links for taking the dog in where it was safe. It's not unheard of for dogs to slip their collar, which is no bad thing when the alternative is being strangled if it's on too tight.
People bark louder than dogs on here. Jeez.

My point was that the comments were posted on a Sunday - presumable to reunite dog and owner as fast as possible. (This website can be very useful for these things!) It did not rule out a vet visit on the Monday.
