London Marathon - Donna Read (1st Mar 2015 - 19:03:12)
I am running in the London Marathon next month for The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity. You may have heard about the work they do to help find a cure for cancer or seen the Panorama program recently about it. My sister is currently having treatment at the Sutton Royal Marsden Hospital. If you would like to donate towards this great cause please go to my just giving page. Thank you Donna Read.

What a great cause to run for Donna, you can have my donation with pleasure. I was treated at the Marsden last year and they were just fantastic, I cannot praise them highly enough. In case readers of this post wonder why they should donate to something in Sutton, this is the location that cancer patients in Liphook may be treated in (as well as the Royal Surrey). I know a person who lives in Liss with the same cancer as me who ended up in Southampton (who I'm sure are also excellent) so I assume we're just far enough north to fall under Marsden.
Its a sobering and sad reality that 1 in 2 of us will be touched by cancer and helping the Marsden continue with their ground-breaking research and fabulous care is a sensible place for a few pounds of donation.
Go Donna ! Go Marsden !

Donna is a fellow member of Haslemere Border AC (I'm sure she won't mind me saying this)
HBAC are a really friendly running club for all abilities from those new to running (we have a beginners course) to the super speedy like the lovely Donna.
Great cause to donate to and I know that Donna will be doing her very best to earn her sponsorship!
Glad that they took such good care of you Stag Beetle :)
