Re: Restaurant Idea
- Martin (25th Jan 2015 - 17:32:41)
I think your idea would be well supported by the people of Liphook.
A family owned Italian sounds great and a change from the usual Italian commercial chain restaurants that we currently have a choice of.

If you serve good italian food at reasonable prices and not sell drinks at over the top prices our family would definitely use you.

oh yes, my boys would love it.
I'm bored of the hungry horse and so a reasonably priced family friendly eatery would be great.
Looking forward to it.

Absolutely great idea
I think you'd do great trade
Lots of other food outlets but an Italian restaurant would fill a void

Re: Restaurant Idea
- tony (25th Jan 2015 - 21:49:43)
Good idea getting feedback. I get the impression you mean a good quality, reasonably priced (but not cheap) non chain proper old school Italian.
I would love that, but not sure whether everyone else does, hopefully they do. On the other hand they may just want a Pizza Express or Ask Pizza (nothing wrong with that). Your call, we would definitely give it a try, I can't think of another locally.
And whilst we're at it, if there are any high class Greek chefs out there too, can't think when I last found a great one of those either!
Good luck.

Re: Restaurant Idea
- dawn (26th Jan 2015 - 10:18:29)
I'm not sure if you really mean £7 for a main course?
Fro a home-cooked start from scratch restaurant?
I know a lot of chains buy in pre-cooked frozen stuff that just gets deep fried or microwaved, and for that type of thing perhas under a tenner is OK.
But when the time and effort has gone into each dish - A starter perhaps but a main course for under £10 - no.

Is this restaurant going to be in the Green Dragon/ If so do we really want to lose our last village pub?

- Nadine (26th Jan 2015 - 23:33:57)

Re: Restaurant Idea
- Sarah (27th Jan 2015 - 10:46:38)
I have always thought that a good, home made pizzeria would go down a storm here - using a pub like the green dragon would be a great idea too. Take a look at the Queens Head in Sheet for some ideas re pricing. You could also offer takeaway, would make such a nice change. Good luck!

What a great idea to have an authentic Italian restaurant in Liphook. I agree with a previous reviewer too - a cup of Italian coffee in the daytime would go down very well indeed!

Re: Restaurant Idea
- h (27th Jan 2015 - 23:46:43)
there is a good Italian trattoria in Beacon Hill, it is family owned, and the food is good, and the main courses are around 10.00 or so, with steaks and fish obviously more expensive.
The cooking is home cooking lots of garlic, hopefully it could be something like that, it does work out more than the royal anchor though!

Re: Restaurant Idea

Sounds good. Quite happy to pay quite a bit more than at the Royal Anchor if appropriate!

The one in beacon hill is great, something similar would be great.

Re: Restaurant Idea

Great idea. The village lacks a good, Italian restaurant. We would be more than happy to become regulars.

Re: Restaurant Idea
- Claire (30th Jan 2015 - 18:25:30)
Yes, fantastic idea, a local Italian restaurant would be very welcome. Also as a young family we'd be keen to visit at lunchtimes as much as evenings if you were open. Good luck, I hope you decide to go for it.

Re: Restaurant Idea
- Richard (4th Feb 2015 - 17:07:51)
An excellent idea, I have been saying a good Italian restaurant is just what Liphook needs for years
|
|
Re: Restaurant Idea
- Col (4th Feb 2015 - 18:30:00)
Absolutely would support this idea! Liphook is in such desperate need of a decent restaurant. We used to have bi bi annas, but that was more of a bistro. Would be great to have a proper Italian in Liphook. I've always thought if the old model shop in the square was done up, that would be a good site for a restaurant, only problem would be parking though I suppose.

The sooner the better please, really fancy an Italian this weekend

Re: Restaurant Idea
- JJ (5th Feb 2015 - 14:37:11)
If it's going to be pasta and pizza, no thanks. Wouldn't get me out of the house.
Something like Loch Fyne restaurant, with fresh seafood.. or a Greek Restaurant with all the mediterranean flavours, now then you'd be talking.
