Hermes deliveries
- HC (9th Jan 2015 - 08:58:40)

Have just had an appalling experience of a parcel being delivered by Hermes ie not via the letterbox as their email started but left in the front garden despite someone being in the house all day.
Am very frustrated that they can get away with this!

The girl that delivers our parcels is brilliant
I never have any problems at all, she can't do enough for you. She is the lady with the grey transit

I've had EXACTLY the same experience. She seems to be too lazy to knock on the door and it has happened a few times. The lady in the Grey van no longer works for Hermes, there is a new lady.

The new Hermes driver has an old yellow van.
Twice I've had my parcels left on the doorstep in full view , one a mobile phone which was supposed to be a signed for !

The lady in the grey van still works for them delivered me a parcel today, it was the lady with the white transit that left. Liphook is split in half

The blonde haired lady with the grey van has always been very polite and friendly. Yes I've had problems with the company but never with the delivery lady.

Angela, with the grey transit, who delivers to my side of Liphook, is brilliant.
She is always very cheerful & works very hard to ensure that we get our parcels on time despite the fact that the parcels are not always delivered to her on time in the mornings.
She is always conscientious & does her utmost to please.
I cannot praise her work ethic highly enough.

Young girl driving a grey estate couldn't be bothered to wait for me to answer the door just now . She knocked and put the parcel on my doorstep , I opened the door to see her drive off as she shouted there's a parcel for you on your doorstep !!! I heard the door go & immediately went to answer it. Smacks of her trying to squeeze in as many drops as possible as they get paid per parcel .
I then get a text from Hermes saying as I wasn't in , my parcel has been delivered to the letterbox lol!!!!!

Just opened Hermes website to track progress of my parcel. What a surprise, apparently despite only dogs being at home around 1pm (all at school or work), my parcel was not only delivered, it was signed for \'by the customer\'.

Last time my parcel was delivered by Hermes, the doorbell rang and when got to the door, only saw a car/van moving off. As it was a plain car, did not even click that it was a parcel delivery. Only later my husband came back from work and noticed it on the side next to the porch. Visible from the street, not if you are standing in your front door.

Around February my neighbour approached me with a jokey \'you forgot about your parcel, it\'s still with us\' - no note through letterbox or anything. Another Hermes reliable service. She may as well kept it as there was no way I would ever know which of my 20 or so neighbours had received it.

DISGRACE!

I find her very friendly. Always a smile and friendly words when I open the door.

This girl works very hard and I know from chatting to her that she has sometimes hundreds of parcels to deliver in one day, she's a working Mum and I think she should be thought of a little better!

I know most companies can deliver to a different address (work or neighbour) if you know you are not going to be in when a parcel is due then possibly reconsider ordering something next day?

I order from Next Directory, never had a problem with her delivering my parcels on time to my work address and with a smile! :)

Dear Helen,

And how did you get this 'on time' because my website tracking email from Hermes never, ever showed the time or even date or parcel delivery. So, I cannot be home 'on time' or the parcel may not be delivered 'on time, either.
Additionally, as I work part-time, and some people work shifts, it is rather hard to decide where a parcel should be sent. As I have quite a lot delivered recently due to house refurbishments, from a new kettle and wall tiles to kitchen furniture, would not like to have my work as delivery address - this is my private life and would only use in emergency.

Comparing Hermes to other delivery services, unfortunately it is the very bottom.

My missing parcel was left with a neighbour who works shifts, including long days, so got it after three days. I am moaning that she does not bother to leave a calling card at all, scribbling "left at no. 1, 24 or 59" does not take long and we would all be happy.

I am a working mum as well, many of us are, and I bloody hope we are not using it as an excuse for our incompetence!

Re: Hermes deliveries
- Terry (30th Mar 2015 - 21:41:31)

Apparently Hermes delivery drivers are paid a paltry 45-65 pence (depending on size) per delivery and they only get paid once regardless of the number of delivery attempts made, out of that they have to pay their own vehicle running costs and third party insurance etc. They are paid less than the cost of a 1st Class postage stamp so it is no wonder that some couriers are not satisfying the expectations of some customers.

Re: Hermes deliveries

Can I point out that there is more than one Hermes delivery person in Liphook - do not tar all with the same brush!

Re: Hermes deliveries
- M (19th Apr 2015 - 20:15:45)

Can I confirm that there are two separate people that deliver for Hermes in Liphook, grey transit covers the square, Portsmouth road, station road, midhurst road, Milland, Haslemere road and the estates off these roads. She works really hard all weathers and with kids over the holidays.
Since the other lady left that did the other part of Liphook due to a lack off support from Hermes they have struggled to find such a good driver for that side of Liphook
