Post going missing
- Hannah Wiles (31st Oct 2014 - 17:51:59)

Has anyone had any problems with post going missing in the last month or so? We have had various things not arriving that we know have been posted a few weeks ago. Also does anyone know how to report it to Royal Mail?

Hello

We have had one thing go missing that I know of. We are in the Passfield area. I just put it down to one of those things, but would be interested to hear if it is becoming more common.

The item was similar to a National Trust membership card and would have been in a clearly labelled envelope. As I said, probably just one of those things.

Yep same here its been happening over the last few weeks.
Tried the old ringing someone up ploy, what a waste of time. After being pushed from pillar to post they came up with dropping into the local sorting office and trying to sort it out there, which we will be doing next week.
Considering the amount of post we get addressed to others in the road complete with different house numbers it really is a case of lucky dip depending on the reading ability of the postie.
12 houses in the road and even that proves difficult.

I too have had post go missing. I have had two men sitting outside of my house watching it and then asking the postman for my post. The postman refused and reported the situation to the police.

The men watching the house were dark skinned, one had a gold tooth and the other dreadlocks, plus gold bangles on the arm. The first time they were spotted they were in a black mini with blacked out windows.

I since have discovered missing credit card statement and items that I have ordered over the internet have not arrived. To top it all someone has tried to order a new bank card in my name.

Apparently I understand it is thought they are part of a gang working south of London undertaking identity theft to then order goods to that address, intercept them and then sell them on. They were working in Godalming a little while ago and seem to have moved on to Liphook.

The best thing you can do is call Whitehill Police Station as they are aware of what is happening.

My postman and neighbours have been amazing. Perhaps you could mention it to your neighbours too.

Well, Not sure if it is missing yet but I didn't get something I ordered that should have been here a few days ago. I have noticed the last 2 weeks or so that the post delivery to my house has gotten very late in the day and not every day. I was expecting some deliveries this week and they haven't arrived during what would be 2nd class time frame. My regular post lady (for years) has gone and the new post lady, who was very reliable, seems to have also gone. Now I don't see them much and the post is very irregular. What's up?

We live in a block of four flats with another block the same next door and the last week we have all had to go around swapping post despite door numbers being very obvious..on the doors! What is going on?!

We haven't had a problem with items not turning up but with items being open, especially Greeting Cards. On numerous occasions this has happened. Had any one else experienced this?

I have had one letter which had been clearly opened.
It was very obvious.
But mainly I just get junk mail which quite frankly I wish would be pre-sorted and recycled before it reaches my door.

Junk mail is another big issue here too, everyday we get some and usually it averages around 7 different pieces..

Hi. I live in Griggs Green and wondered if anyone else seemed to be getting intermittent post.

Monday - nothing. Tuesday - loads. Wednesday -nothing. I have something that arrives every Saturday and it hasn't arrived yet this week. I just wondered if anyone else is having a similar issue.

Hi Cath, I'm also in Griggs Green (Bircholt Road estate) and I've been thinking the same as you for a long time in fact ever since Tony the postie we had for years moved on to a different job within the post office. We also get the post for other people and vice versa, luckily our neighbours are all very good and we regularly swop post!

We had birthday gifts missing from our post back at Easter time. We also have very intermittent post and we live about 200 yards from the sorting office, we used to have our post before Eight now we are lucky to have it by lunchtime. I think we have all different postmen and women now, not like when we always had the lovely Barbara
