Hungry horse :)
- Michael (13th Oct 2014 - 18:00:25)

We had lunch at the Hungry Horse on Saturday. The tables were clean, the food was hot and prompt and the service was efficient and accompanied with a smile. Will definitely be going back.

Our family on both myself and my partners sides have gone to various eateries within about 20 miles of Liphook and I can honestly say the best 2 are The Anchor (Hungry Horse) and the Red Lion in Horndean. Admittedly the food did go downhill a while back but it's back to being very good again. We've had many family birthdays there and plan to carry on doing so in the future.

Earlier this year I tried to visit for a meal with a good friend but was unable to as we were warned there were long delays for food so went elsewhere.

Then I tried again a couple of months ago but we never got as far as ordering food as there were some very vocal customers complaining about how they had been waiting 4 hours, another customer had been waiting 3 hours, and one whispered in my ear he had been waiting over 2 hours. So again I went elsewhere.

On the back of the review above, I decided to give the anchor another go. I am a big fan of the Hungry Horse chain and I often visit the one in Farnborough. So me, my friend and his family went last Sunday for lunch. We sat outside due to the nice weather but the floor had quite a lot of rubbish which included quite a fair bit of broken glass and a lot of cigarette butts. Not so good with young children. The food arrived 20 mins later but the quality was not as good as I am used to from a Hungry Horse. Unfortunately, my friend has sworn never to go back there and I felt ashamed for having given it one more go.
