Exhibition - Bramshott & Liphook Parish Plan
- Trevor Maroney (11th Oct 2014 - 18:16:15)

The Exhibition will take place in the Millennium Centre on Friday 21st and Saturday 22nd November from 10 am to 4 pm. This is our community's chance to have its final say before the Plan is published in the New Year.

Draft copies of the Plan are available on the website at
www.liphookplan.co.uk with a hard copy in the Parish Office.

This is your opportunity to make a difference so do come along and make your voice count.

Chairman BLPP

just wondering will there be a vote on the different housing sites like the easts hants presentation in june

Caroline

Our website will answer your questions.

Chrissy

The immediate answer is no. It's not the remit of the Parish Plan to consider the location of different housing development sites. In the absence of a Neighbourhood Plan those decisions rest with EHDC & the SDNPA.

Our focus has been on ensuring that all anticipated future changes are sustainable. Housing without the right infrastructure, facilities and employment land to support such growth would not be sustainable.

Trevor

I only just realised that you replied to me so thank you.

The parish plan is very impressive and there has been an amazing amount of work down by all the volunteers.

I personally supported the Bohunt Manor site as they are the only ones providing the things which all of us in the village have been campaigning for. Our family, with two boys playing football, supported the football pitches at Bohunt Manor, but when will these be built. Do we know when the new surgery will be built as they made a start but it seems to have come to a standstill. The billboard pictures look good but really the real would be better.

The football club are having to fund it themselves, including a road. The developers have just started on the build of the medical centre themselves because I imagine no NHS funding has come forward. I am sure that if our current doctors are funding the move themselves they would have announced it by now! after all it will take years whoever funds it and gets it under way. I personally believe that the owners of the site will just sell it on if and when they get permission to build houses, which is why the facilities have been on hold this last 5 years after being proposed.

oops, I didn't mean this to get controversial, but I think the Bohunt Manor land is the best for the village because it is in an easy to get to location and they were offering so much to the village, but the main thing is that all these things are built for us soon, like the surgery and football amenities. I know the club has to build the amenities but having the land is a start. H, I don't think it matters if they sell the land because the real point is is getting what the village asks for which the others have not offered. I am not sure though what you mean about the road.

Re: Exhibition - Bramshott & Liphook Parish Plan

There is a misunderstanding? the facilities are not being built by the devlopers/owners, they are setting aside some land and expecting other people to come forward to fund/build. Nothing willbe built soon. The football club have to find nearly a million pounds themselves, which includes the access road. No it does not matter who owns the land, but the plans couldsoon change if a different owner buys it. There is no law which says something has to be built just because plans have been passed, and in the case of Bohunt, the plans have so far been disallowed. Check theSDNP website. It is like a private house? If you decide to put plans in for a new extension, do not build, then increase the value of your house that way, sell your house to someone else, they may change their mind and not extend the house, It is not obligatory.

Just a reminder that the Exhibition takes place this Friday and Saturday, 10 am until 4 pm in the Millennium Centre.

In addition, Scottish & Southern Electric have confirmed that they will be on hand to answer questions on energy supply and power cuts.

Thames Water will also be available to answer drainage question, and we hope that representatives from Radian Housing will be on hand to address housing issues.

Drainage Issues

In addition to the Exhibition, the Steering Group is providing a platform for Thames Water to talk to concerned parishioners about drainage issues and flooding. Their representative will be on hand from 10 am until 4 pm on Friday. At this stage we do not know if there will be anyone available on Saturday. Therefore if you wish to seek advice on foul water flooding from Thames Water you are strongly advised to attend on Friday.

Don't forget, we open at 10 am tomorrow morning, and need your help to finish the community's Plan.

We had a good turnout today at the Exhibitions and look forward to seeing many more of you, particularly commuters and the younger generation, tomorrow. We will be open from 10 am until 4 pm.

Unfortunately I'll be unable to attend the exhibition, but it am interested to know why the Parish has chosen to undertake a Parish Plan rather that a Neighbourhood Plan (that would have more weight in Planning terms and also help shape future development)?

I appreciate that a neighbourhood plan must be in conformity with the local plan (I.e. It can't say that only 10 houses should be built if 150 are in the local plan), but it would, in my view, be more meaningful way to influence development and the associated infrastructure that is needed to support it. Additionally it would give some level of continuity between EHDC and SDNP.

Just a thank you for those people who organised the Parish Plan exhibition. It was a well thought out event and the different sections about Bramshott and Liphook very interesting. Keep up the good work!

Re: Exhibition - Bramshott & Liphook Parish Plan
- Dawn Hoskins (22nd Nov 2014 - 18:38:41)

One is free (apart from the massive amount of volunteer hours) and run by the community for the community. Not the council. This is what has been done over the last 3 years.

The other costs about 30k of tax payers money and is run by the parish council with the use of 'professionals'.

Both have considerable weight with regards planning and infrastructure.

There have been ongoing talks with South Downs National Park and EHDC about committing to a neighbourhood plan, but it is such a lot of money that no firm decision has been made as yet.
