Hermes deliveries
- Debbie (13th Sep 2014 - 10:43:20)

Has anyone, apart from me, had any problems with parcels being delivered by Hermes. Does anyone know who the delivery person is?

Re: Hermes deliveries
- Pat (13th Sep 2014 - 16:49:23)

Think its a lady that drives a silver van. Our deliveries can take a while. Quite frustrating when you get an email to say your parcel is on its way and then there is a long delay because of the courier.

- EW (13th Sep 2014 - 19:26:33)

Mine are always fine. The lady is always friendly and leaves in a safe place when she knows I'm not in or feeding the baby!

Re: Hermes deliveries
- Sharon (13th Sep 2014 - 19:35:22)

Hi, I've never had a problem - everything always arrives on time. There has been a different person the last couple of times - over the last 2 weeks - maybe there is someone new or covering the round for the usual person - that might cause some delays I guess - but I have had no problems.

Re: Hermes deliveries
- Maria (13th Sep 2014 - 19:51:50)

I've never had a problem with the lady who delivers for all the clothing catalogues, but had major issues last week with a Boots delivery - the Hermes website was being incorrectly updated and saying my parcel had been delivered when it hadn't. Boots contacted Hermes on my behalf and were advised there was an issue with their barcoding meaning the website was incorrect, the driver with my delivery had a backlog and they couldn't say when the delivery would be made - it eventually arrived a week later than it should! Hope yours turns up soon!

I think the "Hermes" young lady who delivers to me is brilliant. If we are talking about the same girl, she was on holiday recently and a relative covered for her brilliantly.

I have had too many deliveries and, of course, many returns recently, as we are going away.

My only cringe is the name of th company "Hermes" -ooh.

yes, i thought it was an odd name,I even thought it was a medical condition!

Re: Hermes deliveries
- barbara (14th Sep 2014 - 12:23:46)

Hermes was a Greek God, he was the
winged messenger of the Gods. The french bag company is also named
after him.

Re: Hermes deliveries
- Barbara (14th Sep 2014 - 12:58:56)

Yes, have had a lot of problems with them over the past couple of weeks. One of the ladies who eventually did the delivery said that the lady who had taken the job on had found that she was inundated with parcels - far more than she'd bargained for when she took the job, and so there was a delay. The lady who delivered my parcel was a relative, helping her out. The next time, I got a gentleman, so I don't know if things have changed recently.

Hermes was a Greek god, Zeus's messenger, and the fastest of the gods.

Re: Hermes deliveries
- Frequent Mail order customer. (14th Sep 2014 - 15:12:45)

I think they are brilliant as the lady delivers when I am in as she kindly took a note of the time I am home.
However - re' another courier company - I now have to wait until Oct half term for my delivery as they will only deliver mon - fri 9.- 5 and won't allow am/pm or timed deliveries.
If only mail order company's would show which courier they use prior to placing an order.............. I would then only place an order if the post office or Hermes were available.

- Dollypops (14th Sep 2014 - 15:19:38)

There used to be a wonderful electric typewriter in the 60s by Hermes, which I think was a Swiss company.
The usual Hermes lady is Belinda and always excellent, come rain or come shine!

Re: Hermes deliveries
- Darren (15th Sep 2014 - 09:32:58)

I use Hermes a lot for sending and receiving. They are slow but then they are usually the cheapest and I think you will find its not the Lady's fault deliveries can be slow. She can only go as fast as the company lets her. The previous people doing it were not very good. At least she is friendly.

Re: Hermes deliveries
- jenny (15th Sep 2014 - 12:40:25)

I have had two Hermes deliveries, both were men .... eventually!
One was a Next delivery and although tracking said it was on its way, it was another couple of days.
The other was a John Lewis and that was so frustrating as it appeared (according to tracking info) that they tried several times to deliver it to the Hermes delivery person and it ended back at the depot for re-delivery and I needed the item for my holiday. It arrived just in the nick of time, but days late.

Re: Hermes deliveries
- Emma (19th Sep 2014 - 14:56:26)

In reply to all your comments I was up until 21st august the Hermes delievery lady in my silver van.

Thank you very much for all your lovely comments about me I will miss all my regular customers I will miss u all.

Can't say the same for the company they are a horrible nasty company to work for that don't care one bit about their couriers & in my eyes a reliable one is worth their weight in gold which they don't care about.

The last straw for me was being told after 4 and a half years & never once let them down if I didn't get cover for a weeks holiday with my family, there basically wouldn't be a job when I come back!

So on that note stuff u Hermes, but goodbye & thank you to all my lovely customers :) xx

Missing you already in Passfield Business Centre :-)

Re: Hermes deliveries
- Claire (21st Sep 2014 - 22:11:10)

Emma was an excellent courier for Hermes she was always reliable and parcels always delivered on time she would always know where to leave my parcels,or would deliver them at night when i was at home if a signature was required. I could also take my parcels to her late at night or even on a Sunday. Dont have this any more will miss you Emma and our hour long chats, we dont get your lovely smiling face anymore, but who is going to play knock-a-door ginger with Graham now.

Re: Hermes deliveries
- Jo (22nd Sep 2014 - 12:36:39)

The new person doing the myhermes is useless.

I had to cancel two bookings (we are a business) after he "didn't bother" turning up for 5 days. I had to re-book them and drop them off at Rake Stores instead.

Then on a personal note I had a phone call from Next last week asking me if I could collect my parcels from a different road (same number house as ours) as the resident of that house had come home to find two next parcels flung over her back gate - one was sitting on top of her back gate, available to all and sundry to walk off with. They couldn't get hold of the myhermes courier to get them to pick up and redeliver. I collected the parcels myself from a very disgruntled resident.

Disgusting behaviour and service. Please come back Emma!

Re: Hermes deliveries
- Alan (24th Sep 2014 - 12:21:52)

If the new Hermes deliveryman drives a black Audi then I doubt he will have a licence much longer !

A black Audi full of parcels was parked on the wrong side of Headley Road blocking the zebra crossing (not just the zig zags but the actual crossing) !

This inconsiderate / dangerous and illegal parking soon leads to a ban.

Re: Hermes deliveries
- Faye (26th Nov 2014 - 15:18:02)

Is anyone still having issues with Hermes? They delivered my parcel yesterday \'apparently\' although I had been in all day and updated the website with \'posted through letterbox\' which I doubt very much considering I had a delivery of clothes from Next!

Re: Hermes deliveries
- BT (26th Nov 2014 - 16:47:01)

The young woman who has done the deliveries recently leaves my parcels in the porch and rings the bell in case I don't know she has been. She does drive a black car and on one occasion had a small child in the car. She does seem overwhelmed with the amount of work but is always most polite . I guess, like everyone else, she is working to make ends meet.

Re: Hermes deliveries
- Suzanne (27th Nov 2014 - 21:26:22)

Hermes were a topic of conversation tonight on Watchdog.

Sorry to say goodbye to a great Next delivery lady, good luck in your next job. I doubt it's worth ordering from Next for home delivery anymore.

Re: Hermes deliveries
- Janet (24th Dec 2014 - 12:04:38)

I received an email from Hermes at 11.16 this morning, telling me that my parcel was due for delivery today.

I just checked the tracking number that was linked in the email and it says this:
Date Time Status
24/12/2014 10:36 Not Delivered - Address Query
24/12/2014 09:17 Courier Received
24/12/2014 04:33 Out For Delivery
23/12/2014 22:39 Processed at Depot
23/12/2014 22:35 Receipt at Depot
22/12/2014 21:40 Hub Sorter Receipt Scan
22/12/2014 14:08 Order Generated

So, they emailed me AFTER the parcel had already been 'not delivered'!!

I can find no means of contacting them; the email was one of those donotreply ones and there seems to be no contact number and no online contact available.

Has anyone ever succeeded in contacting Hermes? Could you let me know how you did it?!

Re: Hermes deliveries
- Diane (24th Dec 2014 - 13:55:17)

I had a problem trying to get my parcel back as I had put the wrong things in for return. No phone Not anywhere even the company its self. Sent an Email never had a reply.
Try 07827 665443 came across this on a " yellow collection "piece of paper when clearing out

Re: Hermes deliveries
- James (24th Dec 2014 - 14:45:47)

Janet,
Have a look at this web page:

support.myhermes.co.uk/...

Re: Hermes deliveries
- Janet (24th Dec 2014 - 18:52:13)

I tried the Live Chat on the MyHermes support site but they couldn't help.

“Unfortunately, you have contacted myHermes; we are only a small brand within the Hermes Company and cannot reply on behalf of retailers, nor can we deal with companies who are using us as a third party courier like Parcels2go or Interparcel. : At myHermes. We deal exclusively with parcels booked directly through our website, http://www.myhermes.co.uk, parcels sent from private individuals to other private individuals (Consumer-to-Consumer or C2C).
If you have ordered goods or services through Lands End, which my systems are telling me you have, then you must contact them directly and their own customer services team will deal with this enquiry themselves.”

So that's that then! The Hermes courier (who quite probably lives locally) is sitting on my parcel and will probably send it back from whence it came. I could probably go and collect it from them if I knew where they are!

Fortunately, the parcel didn't contain a Christmas present or anything like that.

Re: Hermes deliveries
- Diane (27th Dec 2014 - 17:56:56)

I have just had a EMail reply from Hermes to the one I sent 3 weeks ago. Pressure of parcels seems to be the reason.
