Sad looking passfield club
- Sreve (12th Aug 2014 - 18:38:09)

I was as in passfield club the other week, are they in financial trouble because the carpet, chairs ect look very worn. It's was sad to see the place badly needs to be refurbished. It looks stuck in the worn out 80's

I'm sure as a member you can ask to look at the accounts to find out. It may not be the trendiest club around but the welcome is always great and it's a family friendly place. I hope not and it would be good to see it continue to thrive.

Hi I'm not a member just there for a function, did think about asking about membership, but it's not as smart inside as Lindford club.
It just needs so much spent on it. The committee have left it far to long, to update the place :-(

Dear Steve

Surely we all have better things to do with our time?

May I ask if you have written directly to the Club to air your concerns or have you just decided to publicly complain?

Could this be related to someones membership being revoked due to this kind of behavior?

I cannot understand why anyone would want to write derogatory comments about Passfield Club?

More than half the pubs in East Hampshire have furniture older than us put together!

Passfield Club is a good, well run establishment. It has been going since 1904. Members and their families enjoy it immensely and there have been no prior complaints regarding the quality hardwood and leather furniture.

Like many older establishments, Passfield Club has "character" which is more that can be said for some.

A Passfield Club Member.

Well I can see why it looks like it dose with a attitude like yrs, if you got shot of a member because the said about the state of the place!!!! I was trying to get feedback from users of the club. I work for a company that referb pub & clubs all over the country, if we had good feed back we were going to offer yr club the choice of anything free of charge, we had taken out other places. Some clubs in the North have new refits every 2 years and a lot of the items removed are like new. We don't go straight to committees because they will just keep taking. We like members to say yes the place dose need a bit of love, but they are trying to improve the place as money is available. Yr reply just shows the kind of attitude of a committee member up their own bum, that's why on this time will not be offering to help with a referb.

Dear Steve,

If you are a tradesman that "works for a company that referb pub & clubs" then surely you must know the right process?

If you see a business opportunity you would surely contact the 'potential customer' rather than publicly complaining about them?

Your statement "Well I can see why it looks like it dose with a attitude like yrs" just reiterates the fact that you must be a sad individual with nothing better to do than complain - one who complains about anything and everything, and a disgruntled one who has recently been "removed" from the Club & its Committee due to total lack of trust?

The Committee and members of Passfield Club work extremely hard to present a warm and friendly environment for all and long may it continue.

I am sure anyone would be welcome to come along to see for themselves.

We do not make anything on the old furniture as it is all skipped, 9 times out of 10 it costs us more to skip the stuff, then find a new home for it.

Haha just reading this, the Secretary thinks yr me, if you want to email me Steve to find out more, please feel free robinmlock@yahoo.com.
The club does deserve help, it's just a couple of committee members that have been there far toooooooo long

Re: Sad looking passfield club
- Steve (15th Aug 2014 - 18:23:51)

Thank you Robin
But as you all can read by the replys from as you say committee person, we look for friendly clubs that need help, and yes you might say they Do need help, but with a Hitler kind of attitude!!! There are other clubs, we can help. I can't and won't help with this one. We have aor way of doing things. People may say it not right, but most of the time we get a true feed back, and this time has proved to me that the club needs more than chairs, tables ect.

- A another club member (15th Aug 2014 - 22:43:28)

To All,
As a club member for over twenty years I find it difficult to understand what the problem is.
The club is thriving along with knew outdoor projects underway.
Robin I fear this is all to do with the fact you were nominated to join the commitee but we're thrown off by the members who had the courage to attend the AGM. But as you are more than aware this is not the first time you have been suspended and now your membership terminated for bringing the club into dusripute.

Steve I would be greatfull if you would say which function you recently attended?

Re: Sad looking passfield club
- also a club member (16th Aug 2014 - 00:16:37)

Wow I'm not sure that was called for! It seemed like quite a personal attack on Robin who simply offered an explanation to a seemingly accusing post. I'm sure the comments made previously are nothing to do with the fact that there were 3 long standing members of the club (one of whom was a trustee for 30+ years) have been suspended for apparently "bringing the club into disrepute"? Nothing to do with the ex steward and stewardess leaving before they were pushed out? Sadly, myself and many others are not convinced that Passfield Club does offer the warm and friendly environment that it once did..
Steve, I'm sure there are plenty of great places that would benefit from the work you do, I'm not sure if this instance your hard work and generosity would be appreciated though.

Steve,
I’m little confused, if you have only visited Passfield Club on the one occasion how come you know so much about the place and the committee?
I have been member for only 8 months and I don’t know half as much as you seem to know.
My family and I enjoy the friendly atmosphere and will continue to support and use Passfield Club

My family and I were in the club yesterday, they have a small beer garden around the back of the club its great we can keep an eye on the kids, and they now have Thatchers Cider on draft.

Hi,

I am concerned about all the gossip here, especially with reference to the following post;

- also a club member (16th Aug 2014 00:16:37)

Those mentioned in previous posts only have themselves to blame. They have discussed highly confidential & personal information beyond the confines of the Committee and have been very accusatory themselves! They were asked to leave as a result. Surely this would be the case in any organisation?

It is unfortunate that their way of dealing with the situation is to continue to "bad mouth" Passfield Club and those involved with it.

Where did you get the information that "the ex steward and stewardess left before they were pushed out?". Again unfounded gossip. I heard that they left amicably?

Steve, Robin / Robin, Steve (if you are one and the same person) - take it on the chin please - you are the one who broke the rules. Deal with it like a grown up and move on.

Re: Sad looking passfield club
- Robin (1st Sep 2014 - 19:59:56)

Dear club member
This has nothing to do with me, I would like you to apologise, or I will have no option but take legal advise. Just like the committee did when I asked for a copy of the you had sent me. The comment was talk to our solicitors!!!! People including committee members, have read the emails sent to the old stewards, totally out of order the way they were done!!! You wouldn't talk to a dog that way. So take it on the chin and stop running a nice club into the ground, because you think it's yr club!! it's time YOU resigned!!!!!

I am not a member of passfield club but I think this thread should be discussed in private between the parties involved not in public, So passfield clubs integrity and good reputation are not damaged
