Bring Back Jez & Petra

______

Food has gone down hill, Quality has gone down hill, Service has gone downhill, the whole place seems to have nose dived into the sea. Seems a little sad.

maybe they should sort out the food before doing bands, pubs are needing the food side of things as thats what makes most of their sales,

______

was in the other day and ordered a meal, the main meal was served nearly Raw, and then when I said, I was given a free sweet. I dont really want a free sweet when the main meal was served below standards. even then I got the wrong desert.

Many of the staff working there are really good, and its a shame for the place.

Please help make it better, was great once, can be again

Went for a meal with the wife last week. We won't be going back.

Can anyone suggest a nearby, reasonably priced, alternative please?

You could give The Prince of Wales in Hammer Vale a try. It's 3 miles away from The Anchor, (5 minutes in the car) so not far to go. We went there for a Sunday lunch a few weeks ago and had a nice meal that was good value for money, in our opinion.

shame it has gone downhill for meals, there are few pubs locally which are not gastro now, but it is the same everywhere. What about the 241 in
Bordon? There are a few I can suggest how far will you travel? May be it is an opportunity for the Green Dragon to step into the breach?

I went to the flying bull rake, for a meal this evening and I can concur that rhey serve a good pib meal at a readonable price. I hac some lovely butchers sausages which were from Morgans the good butcher in Lavant St Petwrsfield, Mash lovely gravy and aside dish of veg for 8.95. In a gastro pub it would have been at least 12.00.Excellent quality for the money and good service.

I visited the Anchor yesterday for a roast dinner. It was perfect. The beef was beautifully cooked, and at 2for £10 I wouldn't have grumbled if it wasn't all that. I'd say when Jez and Petra first left it was a very difficult time for the staff, however I think they muddled through and are now getting back on track. They work very hard and try their best to please. I think encouragement helps too, it can't do much for their morale to hear and see such negativity. Credit where credit is due, my lunch was value for money and very good too. I won't be turning my back on a team who on the whole work their socks off for very little reward.

- Tori (21st Aug 2014 - 21:10:28)

Jazz Funk Coalition will be playing this month on the 29th there will be a separate thread up asap with all the info.

In regards to previous comments, it's a shame to hear some of the negative reviews as since our new management has come in things have absolutely turned around. Nobody can expect things to change overnight and the staff have worked very hard so thank you for the above comment of support! We are always happy to hear any feedback as it can only help us improve.

Looking forward to next weeks entertainment and seeing everybody who comes along!

I don't understand why people have made these comments about the anchor its got a lot better its nice to finally be served with a smile instead of the old sour ones the food has got better and the staff are great with children lovely family pub

"liphook Family"

There has been serious problems with food and the cooking of it, people have the right to say how they feel about the food and how well its been cooked. If food is served Raw and either a child or elderly person consumes the food they could be seriously ill.

Isn't it better for people to understand any ongoing issues and avoid environmental health from closing down the site. People could have registered the information with them but haven't.

I am hoping the food does improve and will be giving the food a trial in the next day or two, but will be careful.

Staff members new or old always put in a lot of hard work and are OVER worked due to the pub being rather busy. The Staff members do always try and keep smiling even though it can be hard sometimes.
