Businesses support Initiative

The first formal meeting of the Liphook Business Initiative was held at the Millennium Hall in the village on Wednesday evening. A range of about 30 local businesses attended representing a wide cross section of businesses within the locality, from Accountants and Estate Agents, to Retailers, Restaurateurs and Web Designers. In addition there were a number of guests and speakers who were able to offer support and direction for the new initiative.

Guest visitors and speakers included John Tough from Bramshott and Liphook Parish Council, Linda Munday from East Hampshire District Council, Anne Harrison from Hampshire District Council and Brendan Gibb-Ray from the Emsworth Business Association. They were very clearly able to show the group how things could be moved forward, and some ideas for developing the Initiative.

Lee Stewart, Managing Director of Print IT was delighted with the response and the attendance. “It was great to see such a diversity of businesses coming together with a common goal. Even several businesses who couldn’t attend registered their interest in advance, and we now have a strong working core to get the Initiative off the ground and make it successful, which will be beneficial for the whole of Liphook. We have some terrific ideas for the future, and are very keen that as many businesses as possible join the group.”

The Liphook Business Initiative is very keen to open its membership up to all businesses within the parish, and at the current time there is no fee to join. Stewart adds “The more businesses that come on board, the stronger our voice will be, and the more we can make a difference to the businesses and the community of Liphook.”

Membership forms will be available at A3 Car Rentals, A3 Sports and Liphook Hardware or you can register your interest by emailing the group on liphookbusinessinitiative@googlemail.com
