 BLACS Lectures
BLACS is delighted to open its autumn series of lectures at the Liphook Millennium Centre with local speaker, Wendy Dolan. Wendy Dolan is an exciting and inspired West Sussex based artist, lecturer and teacher who specialises in freehand machine embroidery and related creative stitching techniques. In her talk, “Art, Architecture & Stitch” on Tuesday 2nd September at 8pm, Wendy will be discussing how to use fabrics, thread and stitch to create original textured designs.
A member of The Society of Designer Craftsmen, The Sussex Guild of Designers and Makers, and the Embroiderers’ Guild, Wendy will share her expertise with the audience on making the most of design sources, including landscape and natural forms, fish, ancient relics, architecture and still life. BLACS looks forward to welcoming members and visitors to an stimulating and rewarding evening. Refreshments will be available with free parking at the Sainsbury’s car park opposite.
Wendy regularly shows her work at exhibitions, craft shows and fairs across the country. 2008 venues below.
She trained in Art and Textiles while studying for a B.Ed. Degree in Brighton. She teaches at The Connaught Centre, Hove, Sussex:- The Quilt Box, Polegate, Sussex:- Puddleducks, Sevenoaks, Kent:- Making Space, Havant, Hampshire:- Standen, National Trust House, East Grinstead, West Sussex.
West Dean College, Chichester, West Sussex, and as a freelance tutor and lecturer, she travels nationwide, visiting groups and guilds.
